“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.”
-Anatole France
I’m Nick, and I’m thrilled you’re here.
I’m a New York City based photographer, specializing in pet portraits with a modern, minimal, timeless aesthetic. Photography is my way of capturing the essence of our furry best friends, and I do my best to show the spirit of each animal that’s in front of me and my lens - not just as memories, but as art. Every portrait is a chance to showcase their unique beauty in a way that goes beyond a simple snapshot.
I’ve always loved animals. I grew up with pets since the day I was born (Heidi, Oreo, Raisin, Roberto and Clyde, Maggie, Luigi, Kali and Jake). But when I got my first dog as an adult, the sweetest, cuddliest mastiff named Jean, it gave me an even deeper love for animals. She was my first baby. Now my partner and I have our senior dog named Gizmo, pictured here. He inspires me - he’s mostly blind and mostly deaf, but has lost none of his vigor for life (or chicken).
I’m also a professional classical trumpet player in NYC. For the past 20 years I’ve played in NYC and around the world with orchestras, chamber ensembles, and on Broadway. I was in the orchestra for the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera for 15 years, the last 9 of those as a full time member.
Whether I’m telling a story with my camera or my music, I take great care in the details that make all the difference, ensuring that every frame, like every note, is captured with intention.
